  • Download the GenderAPI Microsoft Excel Add-In, then open Excel and click the GenderAPI logo in the top menu to launch the sidebar.
  • Get your free API key from the official GenderAPI site and paste it into the API Key field.
  • Select the gender detection method: Find gender by name, Find gender by email, or Find gender by username.
  • Based on the selected method, choose the column containing the name, email, or username.
  • Specify the start and end row numbers to define your data range.
  • (Optional) If you want country-specific gender detection, select the column that contains the two-letter country code (e.g., TR, FR). Alternatively, apply a single manual country for all data.
  • Choose the column where the detected gender will be written.
  • If the gender column already contains values, check "Skip if gender column is filled" to avoid overwriting.

  • (Optional) Select the column to write the detected country where the name is most commonly used.
