California Privacy Rights

Scope

This notice describes GenderAPI practices and the rights that may be available to California residents under the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA.

Categories of Information

Depending on how you use the Service, GenderAPI may process identifiers and account/contact information, billing-related information, technical Site-use information, API query inputs, and data contained in files you choose to upload.

During the preceding 12 months, these categories may have been collected directly from users and customers, automatically from their browsers or devices, and from files or query data they choose to submit. They are used for service delivery, account and payment administration, support, security, legal compliance, consent-based analytics and the limited product-improvement activity described below.

Use and Retention

Information is used to provide and maintain the Service, manage accounts and purchases, respond to support requests, meet legal obligations and improve GenderAPI.

Under the published policy, successful API query inputs are not retained as reusable query records; technical and security logs have a separate retention schedule. Email queries are not retained as reusable query records. The published policy permits unresolved non-email queries to be retained for up to 12 months for product improvement, subject to applicable privacy rights. For Excel and CSV files, the published policy schedules active-system removal within five days and offers earlier workspace removal after export; rolling-backup overwrite and deletion operations follow the periods described below.

Account data is retained while an account is active and is deleted or irreversibly anonymized within 30 days after closure or an approved deletion request, unless an exception applies. Support communications may be retained for 24 months after closure; security and technical logs for 90 days; and billing or transaction records for up to seven years where needed for accounting, tax, chargeback or fraud-prevention obligations.

Data removed from active systems may remain in access-restricted rolling backups for up to 15 additional days. A longer period applies only where required by law or necessary for a legal claim, fraud inquiry or security investigation. The complete category schedule appears in the Privacy Policy.

No Sale or Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising

GenderAPI does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. GenderAPI therefore does not require a sale-or-sharing opt-out to prevent a practice it does not perform.

This statement does not describe a service provider acting on GenderAPI’s behalf as a sale or cross-context advertising disclosure. Account, payment, support, security and consent-based analytics information may be disclosed to service providers only as necessary for the relevant business purpose. These providers include Cloudflare for network security; DigitalOcean for United States hosting; iyzico and Binance for payment functions; Twilio SendGrid for transactional account emails; Google Workspace/Gmail and Chatra for customer support; and Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads for consent-based measurement and conversion functions. Query and file data may be processed by the network and hosting providers required to operate the Service but is not supplied for advertising or another provider’s independent use. The private GenderAPI-operated AI does not send query inputs to a third-party AI provider, use them for training or retain them in AI logs.

Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or valid legal process, or to protect Users, GenderAPI or the public. See Information Disclosures and Service Providers for the applicable categories.

California Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, California residents may request to know, access, delete or correct personal information, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal service without discrimination for exercising privacy rights. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law.

Send a request to support@genderapi.io. Describe the right you wish to exercise. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority.

You may also call +90 850 305 0427. We will confirm receipt within the period required by applicable law and generally respond within 45 days. If a legally permitted extension is needed, we will explain the reason and the extended deadline. If we deny a request, our response will explain the basis and any available appeal or complaint route.

Because GenderAPI does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, a Global Privacy Control signal does not change such a practice. We nevertheless treat supported browser privacy choices consistently with the cookie controls described in our Privacy Policy.
